Professional Violinist & Pedagogue
Dmitry Myzdrikov was born in the former USSR and began playing the violin at the age of six at a public music school in Maykop, Republic of Adygea. His early passion for the instrument led him to advanced studies in Moscow at the Gnesin State Musical College and the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, two of Russia's most respected music institutions.
By the age of 18, Dmitry was performing chamber music with Ensemble XXI, an international ensemble in Moscow, recording CDs and appearing in renowned venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Vienna Konzerthaus, and the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
In 2000, he joined Camerata de Coahuila in Mexico as Principal Second Violin, performing internationally and participating in several recording projects. During this time, he also worked with students of all ages, sharing his experience and fostering a deep love for the violin.
After moving to Canada, Dmitry performed with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra while teaching privately. He later relocated to New Brunswick, where he served as a Teaching Artist with Sistema New Brunswick (2016–2019) and continues to teach violin regularly. He performs as a regular extra violinist with Symphony New Brunswick (2016–present) and holds the position of Concertmaster with the Symphonette By The Sea Orchestra (2023–present) and the St. Croix Chamber Orchestra (2024–present).
In January 2020, Dmitry published his first book, Amazing Violinist: Violin Method Volume 1, now distributed internationally.
I fell in love with the violin at the age of six, and over decades of study and performance, I developed the ‘Amazing Violinist’ method to share my knowledge with a new generation of violinists. This method is designed to be taught under a teacher's guidance, tailored to each student's needs, and builds a solid foundation in about one year.Dmitry Myzdrikov

The exercises are well-paced, becoming more challenging as the book progresses. It’s been a great way of gaining confidence! There are also pictures demonstrating the correct posture, bow hold and finger placement.
Very good book to remember how to deal with a violin. I had a 20 year delay, and now have a pleasure to go back to playing. A great addition to violin classes.
Very practical and effective method. I recommend.
